Free RISE Workshop · Every Other Saturday
Most retirement plans answer one question very carefully: how much will I have? Almost none of them answer the second one — how much of it do I actually get to keep?
RISE is a free Saturday-morning workshop on that second question. What you'll owe, when you'll owe it, and which of those numbers the tax code already lets you change. Nothing is sold on the session.
Save My Seat — It's FreeFree to attend · Educational workshop · No products sold
The tax treatment of what you have already saved is not fixed. Learn which provisions in the tax code apply to your accounts — and which ones have deadlines attached to your age or this year's income.
When income arrives matters as much as how much of it there is. Learn how required withdrawals, Social Security, and bracket thresholds interact once the paychecks stop.
A large balance and a reliable income are two different problems. Learn why they are planned in a particular order — and what it costs when that order is wrong.

What This Workshop Covers
RISE stands for Reduce Income Tax, Supercharged Earnings, and that is the whole agenda. One hour on a Saturday morning on what the tax code actually says about money you have already set aside — and where most retirement plans quietly leave some of it on the table.
Sessions rotate. Some cover general retirement and tax planning; others go deep on one specific strategy alongside a CPA, so the technical questions get answered by somebody qualified to answer them. Nothing is sold on the workshop. If you would like someone to look at your own numbers afterwards, that is offered separately and entirely your call.
Save My Seat →Why This Matters Now
It isn't about how much you earned — it's about how much you keep. Your statement shows you one number. What actually reaches you after tax is a different number, and very few people are ever shown how far apart the two can be.
Every dollar in a traditional IRA or 401(k) is pre-tax money with tax still owed on it. The balance on the statement is not the amount you get to spend, and the difference is set by rules — not by how well you saved.
At a certain age, withdrawals from those accounts become mandatory whether you want the income that year or not — and they arrive as taxable income stacked on top of everything else you are already receiving.
Most people have had their investments reviewed many times and their tax treatment reviewed never. It is not a service most advisors are trained to provide, so it quietly does not happen.
Several of the strategies covered depend on your age, your income this year, or how long you have before withdrawals begin. Waiting does not keep your options open — it removes them one at a time.
The Shift
Two people can retire having saved exactly the same amount and end up with very different amounts to live on. The difference usually isn't investment returns.
The plan optimizes the balance: contribute, grow, retire, withdraw. Tax is treated as something that happens to you at the end, at whatever rate applies when you get there. The withdrawals arrive on schedule, and the size of the bill is discovered rather than decided.
The plan treats the tax treatment of each account as a decision to make in advance, using provisions already written into the tax code, with the order and the timing chosen on purpose. The balance still matters. What reaches you matters more — and it is far more within your control than most people are told.
None of this is about loopholes and none of it is about taking more risk. It is about provisions that already apply to money you have already saved, and knowing which of them apply to you. The workshop walks through it in plain language, with the numbers on screen.

The Agenda
What your retirement accounts will actually cost you in tax, and why the balance on the statement is not the amount you get to spend
How required withdrawals work — when they begin, how they are calculated, and what they do to your taxable income once they do
Which provisions apply to money you have already saved, and which of them are time-sensitive based on your age or this year's income
How tax-free income streams are built, and what makes one reliable rather than merely projected
Where a Roth conversion fits — and where it does not, including the situations in which it is the wrong move
What to ask your own CPA or advisor, so you can check any of this independently instead of taking our word for it

Alvin Ubaldo is a proud American immigrant from the Philippines with over 15 years in the financial services industry. A husband and father of three sons, his own introduction to this work came as a client — after seeing what careful planning did for his family's security, he built a career on doing the same for other families.
Today Alvin leads Valoram Solutions, working alongside CPAs and tax specialists on retirement income and the tax treatment of money people have already saved. On the sessions that go deep on a specific tax strategy, he is joined by a CPA so the technical questions get answered by someone qualified to answer them.
A devoted Christian who holds integrity and transparency as the cornerstones of lasting trust, he runs this workshop as education first. Nothing is sold on it, and he says plainly when a strategy is not a fit for someone's situation.
